- Concept to Commercialisation -

In our day-to-day activities we are continuously breaking new ground in healthcare innovation.  We are committed to action research and manage a portfolio of projects in collaboration with WMG at the University of Warwick.  These research projects are done by MSc students and supervised by members of our team.  This academic year we are supervising the following MSc projects:

Developing Medical Products

The automotive and aerospace sectors have well established and sophisticated product development processes, tools and techniques.  These are driven by requirements to deliver new products into a competitive market place meeting well-defined cost, time and quality targets.

How does the healthcare technology sector compare?  Do they develop products much differently?  Can this sector benefit from the process, practices and experiences of automotive and aerospace?

The objectives of this project are to investigate how the latest product development methodologies, processes, tools and techniques can be applied in the healthcare technologies sector.

Implementing healthcare innovation

Many people consider that the job is done after a new product is manufactured or a new service is operational.  In the health service, this is just the beginning.  The challenge is to get other hospitals, healthcare organisations and practitioners to adopt and use these new products and services.  This study will analyse the adoption of innovation in a healthcare setting.

The objectives of the project are to develop a methodology for accelerating the adoption of healthcare innovations.
